Soil Stabilizer Machine With Recycler Screen

US Patent:
4458763, Jul 10, 1984
Filed:
Oct 14, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/311265
Inventors:
Prabhakar B. Rao - Enon OH
Gary L. Jackson - S. Charleston OH
Assignee:
Koehring Company - Brookfield WI
International Classification:
A01B 3316
US Classification:
172 32
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a soil stabilizer machine with a recycler screen. The soil stabilizer machine includes a horizontal rotor having a plurality of teeth along a periphery thereof. In operation, the machine moves along the ground and the rotor rotates to dig soil material. The soil dug by the rotor is comminuted by the rotor within a housing surrounding the rotor. Inside the housing and behind the rotor a screen is positioned to selectively permit particles of soil of less than a predetermined size to be dispensed on the ground behind the rotor and to selectively return particles of soil or rock greater than the predetermined size to the rotor to be further comminuted by the rotor. In a preferred embodiment, the screen is pivotably mounted within the housing between first and second positions. The screen can be secured in the first position to return particles of greater than the predetermined size or in the second storage position in which the particles dug up by the rotor are dispensed upon the ground behind the rotor without being sized.

Modular Vial Autosampler

US Patent:
6143573, Nov 7, 2000
Filed:
Oct 23, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/735485
Inventors:
Prabhakar P. Rao - Cincinnati OH
Edmund T. Lewis - West Chester OH
Thomas B. Green - Batavia OH
Assignee:
Tekmar Company - Cincinnati OH
International Classification:
G01N 3502
G01N 3510
US Classification:
436180
Abstract:
A modular vial autosampler has a storage area for vials containing samples to be analyzed and at least one modular sampling station. A vial transfer mechanism lifts a sample vial from the storage section, moves it to a station for identification and then to a sampling station, and under central control activates the sampling station for obtaining a sample for analysis. The vial transfer mechanism is movable in x, y, and z directions to capture and move a selected vial. The autosampler has a series of valves operable under central control to selectively introduce two different standards into the sample, and after obtaining the sample, for rinsing and purging the conduits or lines and needles to reduce sample carryover. The modular vial autosampler includes controls to selectively sample either a gas or a liquid using many of the same components.

Multi-Sensing Device And Method Of Operating

US Patent:
7891234, Feb 22, 2011
Filed:
Oct 8, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/247301
Inventors:
Kevin D. Le - Richland Hills TX, US
Jeffrey J. Tooley - North Richland Hills TX, US
Prabhakar B. Rao - Huntsville AL, US
Assignee:
Luraco Technologies, Inc. - Arlington TX
International Classification:
G01N 15/08
US Classification:
73 38
Abstract:
A multi-sensing device is provided which includes a first sensor for sensing a temperature of the fluid flowing through the filter element, a second sensor for sensing a pressure generated by the fluid flowing through the filter element; and an indicator for indicating a condition of the filter system, and a microcontroller operatively coupled to the first and second sensors. The microcontroller executes instructions for receiving temperature data from the first sensor and pressure data from the second sensor; if the temperature data does not exceed a first temperature threshold, monitoring subsequent temperature data received from the first sensor until it exceeds the first temperature threshold; and if the temperature data exceeds the first temperature threshold: determining whether the temperature data exceeds a second temperature threshold and whether the pressure data exceeds a pressure threshold; if the temperature data exceeds the second temperature threshold, activating the indicator to indicate that the fluid is in an abnormal condition; and if the pressure data exceeds the pressure threshold, activating the indicator to indicate that the filter element is in a condemned condition.

Self-Centering, Floating Retainer For Spin-On Filter

US Patent:
6019229, Feb 1, 2000
Filed:
Dec 18, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/993285
Inventors:
Prabhakar B. Rao - Cookeville TN
Assignee:
Fleetguard, Inc. - Nashville TN
International Classification:
B01D 3502
US Classification:
210443
Abstract:
A fluid filter for filtering a circulating fluid includes an outer shell having a closed first end and opposite thereto an open second end which is defined by a peripheral edge. The outer shell further includes a surrounding sidewall which defines a hollow interior and a filter cartridge is positioned within the hollow interior. A nutplate is positioned in the open second end and is assembled to the outer shell with the peripheral edge of the outer shell being formed over a portion of the nutplate. A floating annular retainer is positioned adjacent the nutplate and in cooperation with the formed peripheral edge creates an annular receiving channel. An annular gasket is placed in the receiving channel and is sized such that there is a side-to-side compressive fit established between the annular gasket and the retainer and a similar compressive fit is established between the annular gasket and formed peripheral edge.

Method And Apparatus For Nondestructive Testing Of Cement

US Patent:
4259868, Apr 7, 1981
Filed:
Oct 1, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/080827
Inventors:
Prabhakar P. Rao - Duncan OK
David L. Sutton - Duncan OK
Assignee:
Halliburton Company - Duncan OK
International Classification:
G01N 2900
US Classification:
73597
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for the nondestructive testing of cement slurry samples as a function of time are disclosed. A sample placed in a temperature and pressure controlled autoclave is coupled to transducer means under computer control. Ultrasonic energy is propagated through the sample and the transit time is measured. A predetermined relationship relating transit time to compressive strength is employed and enables the determination of compressive strength. The measurements are repetitively performed on up to eight samples simultaneously and the time history of the development of compressive strength is recorded.
