Filed:
Mar 15, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/654936
Inventors:
- Knoxville TN, US
Kevin Michael Sayers - Knoxville TN, US
Richard Seltzer - Knoxville TN, US
International Classification:
A01K 27/00
A61B 5/024
Abstract:
A collar device is described herein comprising a spacer component including at least one emitter and at least one detector, the spacer component comprising a plurality of optical pathway elements, wherein the plurality of optical pathway elements comprises a first optical pathway element and a second optical pathway element. The spacer component is secured to the device, wherein the first optical pathway element extends from an emitter, wherein the second optical pathway element extends from a detector. The emitter is configured to project light through the first optical pathway element toward skin tissue of an animal. The detector is configured to detect portions of the light reflected by the skin tissue back through the second optical pathway element. One or more applications running on at least one processor of the device is configured to use information of reflected light to determine a biological metric.

Modular Fence Panel And Connecting Member For Welded Wire Kennel

Christopher E. Mainini - Knoxville TN, US
Kevin M. Sayers - Kodak TN, US
John G. Spangler - Knoxville TN, US
International Classification:
A01K 1/02
US Classification:
119502
Abstract:
A modular fence panel system for constructing at least a portion of a pet kennel. The modular fence panel system of the present invention includes at least first and second modular fence panel members, which include a panel member having first and second vertical sides and upper and lower horizontal sides. Upper and lower frame members are secured to the upper and lower horizontal sides of the panel member. At least one vertical side of the panel member is left exposed. A joining member having an elongated tube member and upper and lower cross members is used to secure the first and second modular fence panel members to each other.

Predictive Test For Melanoma Patient Benefit From Antibody Drug Blocking Ligand Activation Of The T-Cell Programmed Cell Death 1 (Pd-1) Checkpoint Protein And Classifier Development Methods

US Patent:
2017003, Feb 9, 2017
Filed:
Jul 12, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/207825
Inventors:
- Boulder CO, US
Krista Meyer - Steamboat Springs CO, US
Julia Grigorieva - Steamboat Springs CO, US
Maxim Tsypin - Steamboat Springs CO, US
Carlos Oliveira - Steamboat Springs CO, US
Arni Steingrimsson - Steamboat Springs CO, US
Heinrich Röder - Steamboat Springs CO, US
Senait Asmellash - Denver CO, US
Kevin Sayers - Denver CO, US
Caroline Maher - Denver CO, US
Jeffrey Weber - New York NY, US
International Classification:
G06F 19/00
G01N 33/68
Abstract:
A method is disclosed of predicting cancer patient response to immune checkpoint inhibitors, e.g., an antibody drug blocking ligand activation of programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) or CTLA4. The method includes obtaining mass spectrometry data from a blood-based sample of the patient, obtaining integrated intensity values in the mass spectrometry data of a multitude of pre-determined mass-spectral features; and operating on the mass spectral data with a programmed computer implementing a classifier. The classifier compares the integrated intensity values with feature values of a training set of class-labeled mass spectral data obtained from a multitude of melanoma patients with a classification algorithm and generates a class label for the sample. A class label “early” or the equivalent predicts the patient is likely to obtain relatively less benefit from the antibody drug and the class label “late” or the equivalent indicates the patient is likely to obtain relatively greater benefit from the antibody drug.

Packaging System For Animal Kennel

US Patent:
2014003, Feb 6, 2014
Filed:
Sep 6, 2013
Appl. No.:
14/019697
Inventors:
Kevin M. Sayers - Kodak TN, US
Liu Feng - Zhong Bei Town, CN
International Classification:
A01K 1/03
US Classification:
206223, 53473
Abstract:
A package for an animal containment system is provided. The package contains a plurality of horizontal support tubes and a plurality of vertical support tubes. The tubes are dimensioned and configured to be joined together by hardware to form a framing for the animal containment system along with a framing for a gate. The packaging includes a plurality of removable fence tubes and a plurality of gate tubes. The fence tubes and gate tubes are configured to be slidably received within aligned openings along the horizontal support tubes. The packaging also includes a box which contains the components for the system. Within the box substantially all of the fence tubes and substantially all of the gate tubes are nested within selected horizontal support tubes and selected vertical support tubes. A method of packaging an animal containment system is also provided herein.

Collar Strap Attachment Mechanism

US Patent:
2013030, Nov 21, 2013
Filed:
Apr 25, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/870475
Inventors:
Kevin M. Sayers - Kodak TN, US
Assignee:
Radio Systems Corporation - Knoxville TN
International Classification:
A01K 27/00
US Classification:
24 34
Abstract:
A collar strap attachment mechanism. One embodiment of collar strap attachment mechanism utilizes a rotatable clasping system with a locking mechanism. The collar strap attachment mechanism is compatible with collars of various widths and thickness. This collar strap attachment mechanism does not require the strap to be looped through any openings so removing the clasp of the strap is unnecessary. The collar strap attachment mechanism includes a rotatable clasp with a plurality of fingers configured to close around the collar strap. The user places the collar strap attachment mechanism on the strap and rotates the two parts until the strap is captured. Once closed around the collar strap, a lock prevents the collar strap attachment mechanism from rotating back to the open position unless unlocked.

Flow-Controlled Pet Water Fountain

US Patent:
2018033, Nov 29, 2018
Filed:
May 23, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/987251
Inventors:
- Knoxville TN, US
Kevin M. Sayers - Knoxville TN, US
International Classification:
A01K 7/02
Abstract:
A flow-controlled pet watering fountain and method of use, thereof, is disclosed. The watering fountain utilizes a pump to direct water up a lift pipe and into a reservoir, whereupon the drinking water falls gravitationally into a drinking basin. Further, the watering fountain allows for control of water flow by selectively opening and closing a flow control valve that is located above the pump and along the water lift pipe. In its open position, the flow control valve allows water to fall back into an interior basin by diverting the flow of water into a return pipe. This arrangement helps prevent premature failure of the pump by allowing the pump to run under substantially the same load and without reducing the total water cycles through the filters. The watering device also allows the water flow from the spout to be completely turned off.
