Filed:
Nov 13, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/438329
Inventors:
Christopher L. Sagar - Sarasota FL
Assignee:
Reftec International, Inc. - Clearwater FL
International Classification:
F25B 4304
US Classification:
62475
Abstract:
A refrigerant purge system for use with a chiller including a condenser and evaporator to remove noncondensables from the refrigerant comprising a refrigerant separation stage to separate noncondensables from the refrigerant coupled to the chiller by a refrigerant/noncondensables input stage to receive refrigerant and noncondensables from the chiller when noncondensables therein reach a predetermined level and a refrigerant output stage to feed condensed refrigerant to the chiller when condensed refrigerant within the refrigerant separation stage reaches a predetermined level and a noncondensable output stage to release noncondensables to the atmosphere when the noncondensables within the refrigerant separation stage reach a predetermined level.

Dual Stage Compressor

US Patent:
6345965, Feb 12, 2002
Filed:
Mar 6, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/519651
Inventors:
Christopher L. Sagar - Sarasota FL
Assignee:
EEFTEC International, Inc. - Clearwater FL
International Classification:
F04B 3710
US Classification:
417569, 417559
Abstract:
A dual stage compressor for use with condensable fluids comprising a condensable fluid expansion stage in fluid and thermal communication with a condensable fluid compression stage wherein the condensable fluid expansion stage comprises a compressor head/heat exchange including a fluid expansion nozzle disposed in operative relationship relative to an condensable fluid expansion chamber formed therein and the condensable fluid compression stage comprises a reciprocating compression piston movable between a first and second position disposed within a compression cylinder having an intake port and an intake valve movable between a first and second position to selectively control fluid flow from the condensable fluid expansion chamber to the interior of the compression cylinder and an exhaust port and an exhaust valve movable between the first and second position to selectively control fluid flow from the compression cylinder such that when the reciprocating compression piston moves from the first to second position the intake valve moves from the first to second position to draw condensable fluids from the condensable fluid expansion chamber through the intake port into the interior of the compression cylinder and the exhaust valve moves from second position to the first position to close the exhaust port and when the compression piston moves from the second position to the first position the intake valve moves from the second to the first position to close the intake port and the exhaust valve moves from the first to second position to force condensable fluids from the interior of the compression cylinder through the exhaust port.

Chiller Pressurization System

US Patent:
5367885, Nov 29, 1994
Filed:
Jan 18, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/182880
Inventors:
Christopher L. Sagar - Largo FL
International Classification:
F25B 4900
US Classification:
62125
Abstract:
A chiller is quickly pressurized by heating water in the evaporation circuit of the chiller water loop by pumping the water into a first heat exchanger where it is heated by hot refrigerant fluid from a compressor. A non-cavitating jet pump circulates the water through the first heat exchanger. A second heat exchanger in fluid communication with the first returns the refrigerant fluid to its vapor state before it returns to the compressor by absorbing heat from tap water. Plural monitoring devices in electrical communication with a control device are arranged throughout the system and the control device deactivates the compressor and the jet pump if monitored operating conditions fall outside of predetermined ranges.

Thermal Purge System

US Patent:
5309729, May 10, 1994
Filed:
Jun 23, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/081771
Inventors:
Christopher L. Sagar - Rolling Meadows IL
International Classification:
F25B 4304
US Classification:
62195
Abstract:
A thermal purge system includes a purge vessel into which is introduced hot gaseous refrigerant fluid from the outlet of a conventional chiller. A first coil having very cold refrigerant fluid flowing through it is positioned within the vessel so that much of the hot gaseous refrigerant fluid from the chiller is condensed upon contact with the coil. The condensate collects on the bottom of the vessel until it reaches a depth sufficient to initiate a syphoning action by an artesian well which returns the condensate to the chiller. Uncondensed gases are reheated and re-expanded external to the vessel and returned to the vessel through a second coil in heat transfer relation to the first coil so that further condensation occurs. Noncondensibles which remain after the reheating, re-expansion, and recooling are purged to the atmosphere.

Microprocessor Controlled Automated Mixing System, Cogeneration System And Adaptive/Predictive Control For Use Therewith

US Patent:
8301359, Oct 30, 2012
Filed:
Mar 19, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/727607
Inventors:
Christopher Lee Sagar - Bradenton FL, US
Eric Michael Maskrey - Carlisle PA, US
Assignee:
HyCogen Power, LLC - Bradenton FL
International Classification:
G06G 7/70
US Classification:
701109, 123 1 A, 123 27 GE, 123575
Abstract:
A microprocessor controlled automated, multi-fuel apparatus to blend hydrogen, bio-fuel and/or natural or propane gases. This novel multi-stage apparatus first converts cooking oils into bio-fuel. The system automatically blends the bio-fuel with at least one of or both hydrogen gas, generated by a self-contained on-board hydrogen electrolyzer, and/or natural or propane gases. This blended “Hyenrich” gaseous fuel drives various processes including, but not limited to, cogeneration systems and electrical generators to produce “green” electricity by utilizing an adaptive and predictive learning algorithms to significantly reduce cost per kilowatt and lessen dependency on the over taxed utility grid, while simultaneously reducing emissions of CO, CO2 and NOx, making the method and apparatus an environmentally-friendly energy device.
