The present invention discloses a method, apparatus, and article of manufacture of an object-oriented tool for displaying, within one window of a monitor connected to a computer, both a graphical and textual trace of an object-oriented model during execution. A data structure is generated in a computer readable medium indicating available transforms from a plurality of source file formats to at least one destination file format. A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for displaying the progress of a hierarchically structurable group of tasks is disclosed.
