A method and apparatus for setting up a telecommunications call from a calling customer (caller) terminal to one of a plurality of call destinations through an interconnection network. The caller dials an 800 number. This number is identified in a first data base as indicating a plurality of possible services, each of which is associated with one or more call destinations. A second data base provides the identification of a switch for generating an announcement to the customer and for the identification of an announcement in that switch. The call is connected to that announcement and an automatic speech and tone recognition unit, and the announcement prompts the caller to speak a command or key a dual tone multifrequency (DTMF) signal in order to select one of the possible destinations. Based on the number dialed by the caller, the Numbering Plan Area (NPA) code of the caller plus the command keyed or spoken by the caller and recognized by the recognition unit, one of a plurality of POTS (plain old telephone service) telephone numbers is selected by the second data base and the call is routed to a destination identified by that POTS telephone number. Advantageously, such an arrangement permits a business to use a single directory number for serving a plurality of services of the business, to select among these services on the basis of a command spoken or a DTMF signal keyed by a caller in response to an announcement of that business, and permits the business to receive the call at an appropriate destination for processing that call.

When the treatment fluid pumped down the sucker rod string from the surface exceeds the predetermined opening pressure of the valve, the treatment fluid is distributed into the production tube string through one or more passages in the tool. The present tool may be used simultaneously with well production, with fluid (oil, etc. ) rising up the production tube string, carrying the treatment fluid therewith. The treatment fluid is thus distributed throughout the local fluid processing system, including pipelines from the well, any initial treatment operations, and any storage tanks.

The intercepted message is then examined in order to identify the toll switch service logic that will process the call. The resulting identity is then appended to the message and that result is then passed to the toll switch so that the identified service logic may be invoked to process the call in accord with the requested service.

The filler material includes a heavy concentration of single-magnetic-domain-sized particles of a magnetically conductive material (e. g. soft iron, carbon steel or the like) dispersed throughout a carrier material which is generally a non-magnetic material that is at least sometimes in a plastic or liquid state. The maximum cross-sectional particle dimension is substantially less than the nominal dimension of the gap to be filled. An epoxy base material (i. e. without any hardening additive) low volatility vacuum greases or the like may be used for the carrier material. The structure is preferably exposed to the expected ambient magnetic field while the carrier is in a plastic or liquid state so as to facilitate alignment of the single-magnetic-domain-sized particles with the expected magnetic field lines.

A method of operating an advocacy network is provided. One or more users are selected based on information in a user database containing, for example, demographic or psychographic information about users as well as information identifying a representative associated with each user, such as a home address. An advocacy message is sent to a user through a first communication network, such as by sending an advocacy message associated with an e-mail message. The advocacy message may include a portion that lets the user generate an indication, such as by clicking on a portion of a computer screen. When an indication is received, a response message is sent to the representative associated with the user. The response message includes information about the user, such as the user's name and home address, and may be sent at a pre-determined time along with response messages from other users. The response message may be an e-mail message, a facsimile message, a printed letter or a telephone call.
