Electrode Assembly And Method For Signaling A Monitor

US Patent:
6233472, May 15, 2001
Filed:
Jun 29, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/107098
Inventors:
Henry L. Bennett - Chatham NJ
Jeffrey R. Cram - Nevada City CA
Bruce Jay Simon - Mountain Lakes NJ
Assignee:
Patient Comfort, L.L.C. - NJ
International Classification:
A61B 50492
US Classification:
600383
Abstract:
An electrode assembly adapted to be attached to the skin over selected facial muscle groups picks up signals to be analyzed by an anesthesia adequacy monitor that measures the level of awareness of a living animal, typically a human being. The electrode assembly also includes a stimulator that stimulates a facial nerve to determine the level of paralysis, or neuro muscular block, of the facial muscles. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing the electrode assembly by printing a pattern of electrically conductive material through a silk-screen or an ink type process onto a flexible layer, and then coating the result with a non-conducting adhesive except at points corresponding to sensing points for the desired muscle groups. Finally, a method for using such sensing and stimulating devices is shown in determining and maintaining an appropriate level of patient awareness, muscle paralysis, and analgesia under anesthesia.

Wind Tunnel Balance And Method Of Use

US Patent:
2018033, Nov 22, 2018
Filed:
May 18, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/598766
Inventors:
- Chicago IL, US
Henry Bennett - Sammamish WA, US
International Classification:
G01M 9/06
G01M 9/04
G01M 17/00
B64F 5/60
Abstract:
A balance has a balance centerline and an axial force measurement section having a longitudinal slot partially dividing the axial force measurement section into a first part and a second part longitudinally overlapping each other and interconnected by corner flexure groups. The axial force measurement section has an axial force measurement beam located approximately midway between the corner flexure groups. The axial force measurement beam has strain gages for determining axial force on the model. Each corner flexure group includes flexures each having a first flexure root and a second flexure root respectively joined to the first part and the second part. The flexures each have a flexure midpoint between the first and second flexure roots, and a flexure thickness that is tapered along the flexure length from each of the first and second flexure roots to a reduced thickness proximate the flexure midpoint.

Resin Transfer Molding Process

US Patent:
6589618, Jul 8, 2003
Filed:
Apr 4, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/826478
Inventors:
Thomas R. Cundiff - Edgewood WA
Henry H. Bennett - Redmond WA
Brad G. Lund - Auburn WA
Robert S. Renz - Seattle WA
Donald E. Wright - Seattle WA

US Classification:
428 363, 428 356, 4283179, 428158, 428159, 428167
Abstract:
A wind tunnel blade ( ) connected to a base ( ) and held in position by a two-piece cuff ( ). The wind tunnel blade ( ) is formed in a resin transfer molding process in which central, fore, and aft foam core sections ( ) are placed together to form the wind tunnel blade ( ). Radius fillers ( ) are used to fill the gaps between the outer edge of the foam core sections. The radius fillers ( ) used in the wind tunnel blade ( ) are formed by a braided sleeve ( ) surrounding a number of unidirectional tows ( ). A tip ( ) is formed separately from the rest of the wind tunnel blade ( ) and is glued to the top thereof. Stacked layers of braided fibers ( ) are used to reinforce the central core section ( ).
