Lie Detector System Using Reaction Time

US Patent:
5876334, Mar 2, 1999
Filed:
Mar 26, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/827341
Inventors:
George S. Levy - San Diego CA
International Classification:
A61B 500
US Classification:
600300
Abstract:
Lie detection system utilizing manual or verbal reaction time to carefully crafted questions used to discriminate between liars and truth-tellers. The invention comprises the hardware and software required to perform the response speed test as well as the questionnaire composition methodology. Discrimination between liars and truth-tellers is enhanced by asking questions requiring simple answers such as "Yes," or "No," and containing an element of surprise to force the liar to manufacture lies on the spur of the moment. His task is further complicated by adding logical inversion levels in his mind using "lying-on-command," negations and double negations. Response time variations between individuals and between questions are reduced by means of controlled questions and controlled subjects, random delays in question presentation, delays in the key word presentation and randomization of question order. Strategies for countering countermeasures of liars are based on statistical techniques, priming and assigning concurrent tasks. Advantages include: no need to wire the subject to a machine, objective assessment made by computer software with minimal input from an operator, and remote operation of the device through a telecommunication medium (modem).

Abstract:
An antiglare optical device for selectively attenuating bright light sources in an object field. This device comprises at the object end, the optics necessary for focusing incoming rays onto a focal plane, at the eyepiece end, the optics necessary to view the image of the object field, and at the focal plane, a photochromic layer for moderating rays originating from intense objects in the object field. A sharp focusing of the object field on the photochromic layer is achieved by means of asymmetrical optical components such as polarizing beam splitter and half lenses.

Energy Generation Device Using Non-Maxwellian Gases

US Patent:
2015033, Nov 19, 2015
Filed:
Jun 30, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/788707
Inventors:
George Samuel Levy - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
H01L 35/00
Abstract:
An energy generator using a potential energy gradient applied to a non-Maxwellian gas occupying and restricted to a volume, to generate a temperature difference between regions in this volume. This temperature difference occurs in the absence of any flow of particles in or out of this volume. The volume can be embodied by a semiconductor and particles, by electrons or holes in the semiconductor. Electrical power can be generated from the temperature difference by connecting a Seebeck device across it or by using the temperature difference to drive an electrical analog of the fixed-vane Crookes radiometer to propel electrical carriers. When two such Crookes radiometers are formed across a junction, electrons and holes can be driven toward each other in the absence of any external voltage source, thereby producing electromagnetic radiation. Applications include heating, cooling, electrical energy production and lighting.

Transportation System Using Crowdsourced Warehouses And Storage Facilities

US Patent:
2016022, Aug 4, 2016
Filed:
Jan 30, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/011535
Inventors:
James A. Levy - Palo Alto CA, US
George S. Levy - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
G06Q 50/28
G06Q 50/30
G06Q 50/00
G06Q 10/08
Abstract:
The invention crowdsources and coordinates the operation of residential, commercial or industrial warehouses as well as vehicles for the purpose of transporting parcels. The invention also coordinates these crowdsourced facilities with non-crowdsourced warehouses and vehicles. The invention also includes an Internet marketplace that may operate as an auction, for exchanging payments for transportation and storage services rendered. Participants use communication devices to enter their daily and hourly availability into a database operated by a Cloud-hosted app. This app assigns drivers and warehouses, proposes routes, estimates pick-up and drop-off times, tracks vehicles, issue a transaction notice before an impending pick-up or drop-off, verifies the validity of each transaction and updates the custody data assigned to each parcel after an exchange. Participants utilize communication devices that allows them to send GPS data to the Cloud app, verify each others' identity, identify exchanged parcels and communicate transaction data with the Cloud app.

Telepresence By Human-Assisted Remote Controlled Devices And Robots

US Patent:
7949616, May 24, 2011
Filed:
May 25, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/138230
Inventors:
George Samuel Levy - San Diego CA, US
Penny Angel-Levy - San Diego CA, US
Elizabeth Joyce Levy - San Diego CA, US
Sarah Anne Levy - San Diego CA, US
James Alexander Levy - San Diego CA, US

Reciprocal Hall Effect Energy Generation Device

US Patent:
2018002, Jan 25, 2018
Filed:
Jun 14, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/623283
Inventors:
George Samuel Levy - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
H02N 11/00
H01L 43/06
H01L 43/04
Abstract:
When a magnetic field is applied parallel to a layer of thermoelectric material, and an electric field is applied perpendicular to the layer, electrical carriers in the layer follow cyclotron orbits interrupted by one of the layer's surfaces. These interrupted orbits produce a drift current along the layer and perpendicular to both fields. Therefore, the inputs are a magnetic field and an electric field, and the output is a current. The phenomenon differs from the classical Hall Effect in which the inputs are a magnetic field and a current and the output is a voltage. The output current produces electrical energy which can be used immediately, stored for later consumption, converted to another form or transmitted to another location. Layers can be stacked, each layer of the stack mutually reinforcing the electrical field in the adjacent stack layers. Stacked layers can be connected in series or parallel.

Exb Drift Thermoelectric Energy Generation Device

US Patent:
2021009, Mar 25, 2021
Filed:
Aug 29, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/006825
Inventors:
George Samuel Levy - Irvine CA, US
International Classification:
H01L 35/04
H01L 35/34
H01L 35/32
Abstract:
This invention describes a thermoelectric energy generation device based on the ExB drift in a semiconductor. The material is in depletion mode to avoid cancellation of the electric field by space charges. Under ideal, infinite mobility, zero-collision conditions, electrons and holes drift in the same direction, perpendicularly to the electric and magnetic fields, resulting in a zero-output current. However, when mobility is finite, their differing properties such as mobility, effective mass, and charge, manifest themselves as different drift velocity and drift direction resulting in a net output current and power. This invention leverages carriers' properties to accentuate these differences and maximize the output power. Quantities being optimized include, mobility, the product of mobility and the magnetic field, positioning electrodes along the drift axis of the overriding carriers, and adjusting the thickness of the semiconductor layer to accommodate the cycloid motion of one type of carrier but not the other.
